Feeling a Bit More Anxious & Uneasy These Days?

Does the pace of life seem to be faster and more hectic than even just a few years ago, and along with it, the levels of uneasiness and stress are also mounting? This can impact our work, family life and our health. But learning a few tips to ease this pressure can have a positive impact on daily life and our health.

Hans Selye, an endocrinologist, coined the term “stress” over 50 years ago. Selye states, “Stress is the body’s nonspecific response to a demand placed on it.” The National Institutes of Health describes stress as a sense of frustration, nervousness, worry or anger and explains anxiety as a continued sense of uneasiness and a feeling of apprehension or fear. Occasional stress is necessary for our survival, but chronic stress is what may take a serious toll on your health and well-being. Although stress cannot be avoided, you may find that choosing one, or a combination of these natural products mentioned below, to be just what you need to ease the tensions of life:

Kava:

Kava has a rich history of usefulness and had found great favor in the hearts and minds of people the world over for smoothing out negative feelings. However, due to a few reported cases of liver damage, it was quickly taken off the market. Fortunately, over time, the evidence became clear that these issues were related, not to traditionally produced Kava, which is water-based, but more likely related to solvent-based produced Kava. Even then the early evidence was muddied and other potential issues with these patients, such as drug/alcohol or lifestyle abuse, were never considered. The conclusion is that water-based extraction of Kava is safe and effective to quickly ease the stresses of life and smooth out the rough edges. By the way, MediHerb’s Kava Forte is truly a”Water-Based Extraction” and is wonderful! We invite you to read the studies published in support of the use of Kava for anxiety, mood and sleep.

Min-Tran:

Minerals are nature’s natural tranquilizers and is a favorite of many of my patients. It has the benefit of helping correct underlying deficiencies associated with some forms of anxiety. Many patients report taking it at bedtime as an aid to a good night’s sleep.

Nevaton:

Nevaton has quickly become a favorite of many patients. It is a blend of St. John’s Wort, Schisandra, Damiana and Skullcap. One patient said, “You know, when I take Nevaton I have all the same problems but it is like I am on a beach with a margarita! My outlook is different.” This comment mirrors what I hear from a number of other clinicians. A key point with this product is its ability to support and repair the nervous system to help balance and normalize underlying issues. Nevaton works fast and if you have not had the privilege to experience this, please pick up a bottle and see for yourself!

St. John’s Wort:

Research has validated the effective use of St. John’s Wort in cases of mild and moderate depression. A systematic review of 29 international studies made the suggestion that St. John’s Wort may be better than placebo and with no negative side effects. Caution is advised in using St. John’s Wort concurrently with antidepressants and should be approved by a physician.

Conclusion:

These simple formulas can be mastered and used clinically to help your patients improve their quality of life. They will be thankful you took the time and initiative to let them know there may be help in easing the stresses that could be impacting their lives.
